In this presentation G.P. Diminich discusses one of the most difficult challenges in estate planning in that properly drafting plans and titling non-probate assets for clients who are in what are called "blended families." These are typically second marriages with children from a previous relationship. This seminar focuses on how to properly provide for the client's surviving spouse in such situations, while at the same time balancing the interests of children from a previous relationship and protecting their inheritance. If not properly drafted, an estate plan could inadvertently disinherit a surviving spouse or children from a previous relationship, or not adequately provide for both.
