2015 South Carolina Nonprofit Corporate Update
Nonprofits are one of South Carolina’s fastest growing and most popular forms of corporate entity, and recent
legislative changes to key nonprofit laws foreshadow an even greater expansion. More often attorneys are being asked to serve on nonprofit boards, draw up the appropriate incorporation documents and bylaws, advise nonprofits on everything from choice of corporate form to tax issues and represent nonprofits in a wide range of legal actions.
We are proud to present the “South Carolina Nonprofit Corporation Update,” which will be a powerful look at the most critical issues lawyers face in serving nonprofits during a time when there is a literal explosion of interest in this form of corporate entity.

The seminar features presentations from some of South Carolina’s leaders in the field. Best of all, every registrant will receive a copy of the brand new second edition of the SC Bar CLE publication, The South Carolina Nonprofit
Corporate Practice Manual. This practical resource includes twenty-five chapters covering virtually every aspect of nonprofit corporate practice in South Carolina. This amazing resource will serve as not only a reliable research guide, but will also provide you with valuable sample forms on CD that will enable you to quickly help your clients put together nonprofit corporations that will help them achieve their dreams.

If you serve on the board of a nonprofit, or advise or represent nonprofits, this book and seminar is one you cannot afford to miss!

About the Book
The Second Edition of the South Carolina Nonprofit Corporate Practice Manual has been fully updated since the release of the First Edition in 2007. The authors, Burnie Maybank, Professor James Burkhard, Jeanne Born, Melissa Dunlap and Professor Jaclyn Cherry have gone to great lengths to cover every aspect of nonprofit corporate practice in South Carolina. The Second Edition does address the new nonprofit gaming laws. Additionally, it contains updated sample forms to include: bylaws for nonprofits with and without members, minutes of the organizational meeting, certificate of action taken by written consent of the directors and incorporators, and a plan of indemnification. All of these sample forms will be included on an accompanying CD at no addition cost.
